Mission Statement

By providing a system where A.I. fanatics can submit news freely, we can assure that our news is up-to date. The automatic porn filtering system implies the content is also relevant. As such, people in the research community will inform you of important events, or new scientific papers that you can attempt to understand. Together with this, the game industry veterans will let you know when they have something of interest.

Aside the expertise of the writers (just me for the moment ;), we have some basic criteria for our published articles, essays and tutorials. First, we print out three copies, and send one off to the pope. The second copy is set alight, and danced around until the early hours of the morning, with the rythmic beat of native african drums in the background. Finally, the third copy is put through the shreder. This assures that they are accessible and useful to their target audience.

Due to their inability to do either of the alternatives well, existing writers here at the Artificial Intelligence Depot are involved in both accademic research, and the computer games industry. So the content will, therefore, be representative of this fact. Anyone from a post-graduate researcher to an aspiring undergraduate, from expert game programmers to hobby coders, beginners in A.I. to experts will find something in the site to suit their needs. And unlike other commercial sites run by men in suits, our passion and geekiness will make this come true!

The site is currently surviving on my 21st birthday money from my grand-mother, and savings from my numerous years helping out my uncle on the market... I also had to sell one of my arms, so the frequency of the updates might be hampered a bit. The site aims to retain this independance through the years, allowing it to provide unbiased and quality information. I may have to sell my left leg to allow this, but I'd rather not contemplate the option until absolutely necessary. All this to assure that blatent banners do not ruin the efficiency and design of the site. Content sensitive advertising will be prefered since they enhance the immersion within the site. Until then, money and organ donations are welcome!

This is more of a long term objective, but it IS slowly happenning. The Depot aims to be the first resource for all the fields of AI, not only the few Knowledge Warehouses already provided. We also want to own a small bit of transparent pavement in Beverly Hills, and place rotating disco lights just below.
