AI Game Development
A Book on Learning & Reactive Behaviors

• AI Game Development

You may have noticed it's been a bit quiet on the news front, although the forums have been quite active. I've dropped a few hints here and there, and I'm sure some of you know what I've been upto. Here's the gossip for the rest of you.

I've been writing a book called AI Game Development, teaching programmers how to create state-of-the-art synthetic creatures. The focus of the book is Learning and Reactive Behaviours, which provides a nice blend of adaptive AI technology with robust game AI techniques. You can find out more about the practical nature of the book at AiGameDev.com; there's a lengthy description and the table of content available. The book is written and I'm finishing off the reviewing. It should be out in Autumn.

The reason I mention it now is because there's a great deal on. The book is great value for money at its normal price (naturally ;) but you can save 30% by pre-ordering at Amazon US, and 10% at Amazon UK. That's not ideal for my royalties, but I do get a small return on sales from Amazon if you use the links provided!

Anyway, normal news service will resume soon. I'm certainly looking forward to getting back to writing more articles and long awaited reviews - among other things.
