Assuming we have a single agreed definition of machine-consciousness, which is more like a machine's awareness between its surrounding and itself. Can a machine be developed with consciousness (using sophisticated AI program)? I mean, no matter how intelligent an AI program is, it is still not conscious, right?

Example: Was IBM "Big Blue" conscious as it became the Chess Grandmaster?
