• Human Enhancement

The New Zealand IDG reports that an Artificially Intelligent Hearing Aid Wins European Information Society Technology Award. Apparently, the device can detect speech, and enhance it's volume while not focusing on background noise.

In the EE Times, a story details Ray Kurzweil's thoughts on enhancing the human brain with nano-robots; Inventor Foresees Implanted Sensors Aiding Brain Functions. Computer simulations of biological brains are also considered possible within 30 years.

Finally, the ICN Network has an article entitled Science Fiction Becomes Fact, which looks into "cyborgs." Kevin Warwick is featured -- enough said about that.

• Hierarchy ?

Hello.

I don't know which criteria you use for better or worse (above or under) in the, let say at
first, animal kingdom, if you admit that human beings are animals. Indeed, when they
sometime call themselves, overlords, we can believe, that they could even create
themselves.

For very low-level people, often we use physical characteristics of the "natural" body to
classify them...But we know this is not a criterion, because sometimes, criteria are
idiosyncratic (people or observer dependent)....I don't know if there exist a objective or
global way to classify that, and if this could not lead to a kind of war/game.

What would you think of owl eyes during the night..you don't need batteries (?)

Then we could believe, that God should be higher...but this is again an old
controversy...indeed how does it come that there could exist several cultures with several
gods...this is not a problem, you can always make/imagine a global/upper "thing/
creature(of course you imagine it)" you call it god...again and again....

Especially we are bit lost when the "space-time lawmaker" came and changed the time and
space as they wanted them to be (?really?)

What would you think as a criterion for "enhanced" : longer total DNA code (?)...but this is
slow to reproduce...so smaller should go faster (?really...the problem is that the space-
time
lawmaker is not working anymore (how could this be..he makes the law of time
behaviour...)...we entered the quantum kingdom..and this was not
easy...so we took the space-time with us..)

I'm just kidding...
Can you answer the question : When is there human enhancement ?
