ZD Net has an interesting three-page article looking into the future for daily interactions with technology; Human-Computer Interfaces From 2003 to 2012. Both input and output devices are considered, and even combinations of the two. The predictions seem quite likely, but exciting none-the-less.

MSNBC has a report on the search engine or at Stanford University -- The World According to Google. Some of the technology is discussed, but maybe it's time to finally fundamentally change the 1998 algorithm? If this is what the brute force network flow algorithm can do, imagine where AI would lead us? See the Slashdot discussion right here. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is certainly putting more money into this idea: Darpa Puts Thought into Cognitive Computing according to the EE Times.

Here is a cool link I found over on Gen5, introducing a small robot called PaPeRo; Creating Better Human-machine Interface Through "Living with Robots".

As for KazTrix, they've just announced their latest product (you may have noticed a message about it in the forums here), and on Yahoo: Release of AI Agent Application. More graphics than intelligence? Let us know!

• AI AGENT OF KAZTRIX

Just tried the AI AGENT program. Here is my two cents.

It is a very simple approach to Information management while using one the best method of AI. (search). I liked it. It is simple, productive, and yes *** graphical .. but I guess that is the part of COMPUTER-HUMAN INTERACTION part. The cloning part is VERY cool and I think it is the best part of the program, which allows users to share information as they please.

While it is simple and addresses the basic needs, I give it *10* out of *10* for personal application for PC's. At last someone used a simple
way to approach information search and management. Good Work

AI is a broad subject since there are multiple areas within it. However, in a general view, it is the science of creating a machine that performs human-like or intelligent-like functions, ot performs things in a intelligent manner. This can include learning and non-learning systems. Learning systems typically update variables as the program advances and new input is received. Eventually, these systems will come out with the desired answer to your problem. Non-learning systems just perform a function or functions by using information available to it. The more information it has, the more efficient it is.

That is jsust a general view of AI. If you need information of specific AI systems (like neural nets, or genetic algorithms), feel free to post.

I'm not an expert on GA's. I work more with NN's. But, here's a site that will give you some good starting information on how to work with GA's.

If you have any questions, please post.
